Our philosophy is “Coding is EZ.” Anyone can learn to code. It is not rocket science or brain surgery, nor does it require any special prerequisite training. If you can tell a story, you can code. Code Munkeez teaches you how to tell your stories so that computer platforms understand them and execute your instructions. We will give you all the tools you need to know in order to understand and be proficient at coding.
If you have taken music or karate lessons before, then you will be familiar with our methodology already. We teach fundamental principles first, then expand on what is learned from previous lessons. Most lessons last one hour, each week or every other week.
Topics range from game design, database programming, embedded software and micro-computing, robotics, encryption and software security, animation, web design and graphic arts, mobile app development, engineering methodologies, and much more.
Classes are taught by individuals with decades of experience in the software engineering field. For specialty classes we bring in guest instructors who are experts in their fields.
Code Munkeez offers instruction in different ways: group lessons and one-on-one instruction.
Group lessons are less expensive than individual lessons. Classes are typically between 4-15 students to ensure that each student receives personalized attention, and they typically last one hour. Classes will meet semi-weekly, weekly, or biweekly depending on the subject and instructor. All participants and their parents or guardians (if applicable) are expected to abide by all Code Munkeez policies.
Group lessons are offered to children ages 10-18. Kids are kept in age banded groups so that curriculum can be customized in a way that can be easily digested by them. Children are grouped as follows: 4th-6th grade, 7th-9th grade, and 10th-12th grade.
Adults 18 and older are grouped together. Class sizes range from 4-8 students and lessons may last between 60 and 90 minutes depending on that week’s material.
Individual lessons are one-on-one with an instructor and typically last between 1 to 3 hours in length, depending on what is contracted for. This option is best for those whose availability varies, or for those that desire to be instructed at a pace they are comfortable with.
Coding Boot Camps
Coding boot camps are offered to adults who want to jump start a career in software development or testing, or want to enhance their current career by adding programming and testing skills to their resume.
These 6 week sessions are intensive, aggressive, basic training courses that will teach you desktop, web, and mobile app development, database programming, software testing, and much more.
Classes meet every day for 8-10 hours.
